Don Halcomb Memorial Scholarship Recipients Announced
The Kentucky Small Grain Growers and Walnut Grove Farms are proud to announce the recipients of the Don Halcomb Memorial Scholarships for Community Leadership Through Agriculture. Two scholarships were offered for $1,000 each, one for a high school senior entering college, and one for a current college student in an undergraduate or graduate program. Applicants were required to be Kentucky residents and pursuing an agriculture or related field at any accredited college, university or trade school.
Mattie Mink
Mattie, of Hardin County, is entering her senior year at Western Kentucky University. She is studying agriculture education. Mattie is currently the president of the WKU Agriculture Education Society and part owner and operator of the Mink and Walters Pumpkin Patch. Her goal is to become an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor, where she will challenge students to reach their potential.
Ethan Lee Robey
Ethan is a graduate of Logan County High School and is attending Murray State University this fall to study agricultural systems technology. His plans are to go back to his family farm, Robey Farms. Ethan has been active in FFA and volunteers at Dripping Springs Youth Group.
